2014 Chapter Community Service

Hi, thanks for stopping by....  We have some exciting news to share.....
Habitat for Humanity New Orleans Effort
By Jeff Hart Past National President

We still have a few $60 single/double rooms, and one $500 “scholarship” to defray travel expenses for a lucky Denver Chapter member, left for what may be our last annual Hurricane Katrina relief trip.  We’ll build a house for Habitat for Humanity during the day, and enjoy New Orleans food, music, and culture at night!

Actual work days are April 15-17, but you can come for a day, or a week, or anything in between.  We have rooms available from April 10-18 to allow you to spend some extra time in the crescent city and even take in the free annual French Quarter Festival April 10-13.  See http://www.fqfi.org/ for details.

Please don’t misinterpret this as any kind of pressure, but it would be wrong of me not to mention that this really may be the last year for this annual event we began in 2007.

Please contact Jeff Hart at jeffshart@comcast.net or 303-907-4664 if you are interested or would like more information.  Do it now before all these nice, inexpensive rooms, and the scholarship, are gone!

We are organizing teams to participate in the Junior Achievement 2013/14 Bowl-A-Thon!
Here's an information 'blurb' on the event.

Are you interested in having a great time, winning prizes and socializing with coworkers?
Add on the feel-good vibe of helping JA raise money to educate K-12 students about the fundamentals of our economic system, and you have a rollin’ good time.
Now is your chance to join bowlers from more than 100 companies who participate year after year, helping to make a difference in our community.
Last year, we raised more than $940,000 to support JA programs. This year, we are hoping to raise $975,000 to support JA programs.

  • Post a link on Facebook! Having friends donate $3-5 will add up quickly
